Humanizing a tragedy affecting illegal immigrants today. Four, attempts to provide a clear- eyed, detailed lens for a subject many people see only as a headline. Turning a polarizing policy debate into a discussion about people, asking questions about our “American” identity — what that means, and who should be allowed to claim it. We want it to activate someone to mobilize themselves and to work toward creating change and sparking awareness.
A metaphorical approach to forced relocation and casting away of powerful dreams using a locket. Deportation can occur in a moment’s notice and disrupt lives of residents contributing to our society. We see through the lens of a young woman remembering her personal loss through a string of disturbing visuals. These memories are triggered by the memories of a locket gifted by her mother.
