Hidden at the bottom of a winding road in Porkellis, Cornwall is Carthvean Farm. Run by vegetarian buddhist Julie Taylor-Brown, Carthvean is home to 45 alpacas and llamas as well as a variety of other animals, all bred for humane purposes. It is a big farm with a small team who keep everything running smoothly, from handling the livestock to selling alpaca products in the farm's quaint shop. Julie lives on the farm and is involved with a number of community activities such as alpaca trekking and visits to local nursing home with some of their well-behaved alpacas. A self proclaimed animal lover, Julie is regarded as "probably the most experienced camelid trainer in Europe", and the farm is the result of a life of working and dreaming.
