Codacolor is the project of Manchester based musician John Atkinson. In a departure from his usual acoustic style, "7+7" is a more experimental track that attempts to offer an insight into his current state of mind and specifically his experience of mental illness. John's recent battle with depression and anxiety is represented in the uneasy and agitated feel of the track. Written and recorded during a particularly difficult episode, his lyrics describe the daily and weekly struggle of living with the illness. Taking inspiration from Fritz Lang's 1927 film 'Metropolis' and George Orwell's '1984', director Matt Donbavand created a dark and foreboding video set against the looming industrial backdrop of Stockport's Hallam Mill.
Track produced by Andy Fletcher of Manchester Music Box.
Video directed and edited by Matt Donbavand.
