Video recording of the Master Talk by Jonathan Harris, interdisciplinary artist and main guest of IDFA 2017. Over the last decade or so, Harris has moved freely between visual art, data visualization, photography and interaction design. He created various groundbreaking interactive documentary works, including 'We Feel Fine', 'Whale Hunt', 'Today', 'Cowbird', 'I Love Your Work' (winner IDFA DocLab Award 2013) and 'Network Effect'. On 19 November 2017, in front of a full house at the famous Tuschinski Theatre, he gave a Master Talk, reflecting on his work and personal explorations of physical and digital reality. The presentation was followed by a short conversation with Jason Brush.
This event was part of the Jonathan Harris Documentary Top10 and Retrospective program, presented by the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam in November 2017 and made possible by the Mondriaan Fund. The Master Talk was recorded in collaboration with the Institute for Sound and Vision.
