Given the fact that it's been raining so much lately, I've spent more time inside working on art; This piece was just the logical conclusion.
Lately when I produce a piece of art, I've been working digitally, using photos from my collection, digitally painting & then collaging it together. This time, however, I went back to creating a physical piece to then work with digitally.
For those interested in the process & production:
I used a Speedball dip pen with a small calligraphic nib dipped in Higgins Black Magic Ink. Inking was done over graphite on bond paper — I chose the bond paper because it would bleed, giving a "watery" look. Digital work was done in Photoshop CS5 with a Wacom Intuos pad.
Video was taken by a Canon 60d on a Joby Gorillapod, and since I've lent my recording gear to a friend, all music was recorded through a MacBook Pro microphone with one take per track (so please excuse the quality!)
Prints will be available soon; If you're interested, check alexkeeny.com in the coming weeks!
