The Recycling market in Bamako, Mali (West Africa) has been around for over 20 years. It started in the rural areas, but has now become commercial.
Mali is the fourth poorest country in the world. When you don't have much, you tend to not throw anything away.
At the Recycling Market, cars, old railways, tins etc. gets new life and become wheelbarrows, buckets, ploughs, household utensils and anything that you can come up with.
It's a place soaring with activity, and music from the banging, hacking, hammering, keeping the furnaces going, etc. It is rather awesome! =o)
