Puget Sound Energy is constructing a $310 million liquified natural gas (LNG) facility at the Port of Tacoma. The LNG plant will hold 8 million gallons of supercooled (-260° F) gas. It will produce between 250,000 and 500,000 gallons a day. Climate Justice Activists Cynthia Linet and Marilyn Kimmerling recently chained themselves to equipment at the LNG plant. They were arrested and charged with criminal trespass and obstructing an officer. A jury found them not guilty of all charges.
