UHRI - SACRE (2001)
Uhri - Sacre is a new interpretation by choreographer Sanna Kekäläinen of V. Nijinsky's and Igor Stravinsky's co-creation Rite of Spring. It develops a dialogue between the contemporary world and the classic composition from the conceptual point of view of sacrifice. The piece asks the questions like what is the meaning of sacrifice in human discourse and why there is an eternal need for a scapegoat in human society?
