If you were to pluck Miron Zownir from heaven and place him on this earth and give him an analogue Nikon Single Lense Reflector Camera and stick him in New York and lead him down a dark alley circa 1975 and pull him into a urine stained doorway to photograph a transvestite insomniac couple coupling with abandon, it would be like taking jerk on a pilgrimage to chicken.
It's so blatant that Zownir lives the life he was designed for...
Miron Zownir: The book & music the world should know [EN]
If there was a 'first impression' competition, I would put all my money on Zownir without blinking. No one makes one as well as he does, it's just so present, in your face, cool, transcontinental, seductive... unflinching. First impression + Camera X Metropolitan underworld = awesome photography. It's a formula Zownir has perfected and which has also given him distinctive perspective on his work, lifestyle and travels from one urban center to the next.
