good night

In the video good night a watercourse changes direction due to the closing of a gate in an adjacent river. This is made evident by the autumn leaves floating on its surface as if they were individuals dragged from their daily routine. On another level the trees reflected in the water provide a solid background to movement.

The voice of T.S. Eliot reading a piece of the poem "The Waste Land" overlaps the sound of the city:

The river bears no empty bottles, sandwich papers,

Silk handkerchiefs, cardboard boxes, cigarette ends

Or other testimony of summer nights. The nymphs are departed.

And their friends, the loitering heirs of city directors;

Departed, have left no addresses

...

The moment when the water stops for a few instants before changing direction, is highlighted by the female voice of a character from the same poem by Eliot, who alludes to Ophelia of Shakespeare's Hamlet, with the sentence that precedes his death: ... good night sweet ladies, good night, good night.

The "good night" of Ophelia, between one flow and another, offers the possibility of awakening.
