Lissa's “Batik” Style is original. It is reflective of her experience living in Indonesia and seeing the batik artisans firsthand. In these images, silhouettes can be compared to beeswax used in the traditional process of making batik cloth. Then layers of color and texture are introduced all done with her tools, the camera and computer. Possibilities are endless and the process continues to evolve.
The joining of natural landscapes with vibrant colors and rich textures transports the viewer to the brink of fantasy. The print medium is either metal or wood depending on the textures represented.
