TSS Earnslaw, is a vintage steamship. The only remaining passenger-carrying coal-fired, steamship in New Zealand in the southern hemisphere.
It makes several trips daily on Lake Wakatipu, between Queenstown and Walter Peak High Country Farm.
The ship was built in 1912, and operated with her sister ships, transporting sheep, cattle and passengers around the area.
When the ship was about to be retired, it was saved by Fiordland travel (now Real Journeys), had a make-over and was then put to business again.
Going on the TSS Earnslaw, is very popular among tourists visiting Queenstown, and in peak season (around December to February) it's best to book ahead.
