Here is a small turnaround of my latest low poly (6500 triangles for the naked version) with 2048² textures.
It might seem a bit "bland" but it's my finest low poly work yet, and I'm quite pleased with the way the normals look.
Here you see a full render, but it looks almost as good in realtime in the viewport (without shadows and AA)
Sculpt in sculptris, retopo/simple rig/texture painting in Blender, normals generated with xnormals, and some work on the textures with Gimp.
