Soplo Por Guatemala is a performance that combines 2D and 3D animations in a dance performance done in Guatemala City in March of 2011. The performance targets children and aims at teaching them the importance of reading as a portal for understanding different social problems and promoting change through education.
“Soplo por Guatemala” is an educational project directed mainly to children and young adults that uses dance, theater and motion graphics to engage a young generation in topics such as the importance of human values, and the need to create a change in the way Guatemalans are living. This change is rooted in education, reinforcing the importance of reading, recycling and taking part in the movement towards a better Guatemala. The performance is a great example of how, through the unification of the arts, performances can become more immersive and interactive experiences when combined with technology and digital art. After the main opening, with a turnout of 300 people, the performance is now being shown at different elementary schools in Guatemala City.
