On the first anniversary of the Trump presidency, tens of thousands marched in cities across the country. But in Tucson, Arizona, a different event took place. Although the night was cold and rainy, the women and men who attended lit candles in the dark and pledged to create small acts of kindness for their community and their world. In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King: "Darkness cannot drive out Darkness; only Light can do that. Hate cannot drive out Hate; only Love can do that." From simple acts such as giving a woman a ride home in the rain, to putting out water for migrants, to working to relocate a 100,000 refugees; these acts ripple outward creating an ever-widening circle of hope.
