Dive into the remains of the Torpedoversuchsanstalt, built in Neubrandenburg. Destroyed at the end of World War II.
The TVA ( Torpedoversuchsanstalt ) was a research and testing facility to improve torpedo target precision during WW II, built on an artificial island right in the middle of the conveniently long shaped freshwaterlake Tollensesee, 100km north of Berlin.
Basic weapon research on different torpedomodels and initial finetuning of new torpedos were the main objectives of TVA, this included adjustments of the firecontrolsystems, navigational checks, targetprecision and tracking accuracy, with several testshoots of every single torpedo before it would sent to the U-boat fleet.
