Mercy Ships is an incredible ministry that follows the 2000 year old model of Jesus by bringing hope and healing to the forgotten poor of the world. This year their hospital ship, the Africa Mercy, is docked in Sierra Leone, one of the most impoverished nations. Every year New Hope Christian Fellowship and Moanalua High School put on The Gift of Hope Charity Concert, which raises funds for Mercy Ships. Because of this, Mercy Ships invited a team from New Hope to see, first hand, what kind of things were being done with the donations. For one week the Hawaii team got to live on board the ship and experience God's work through these incredible volunteers.
Pastor Elwin Ahu, of New Hope Honolulu, recorded a video message for the congregation back in the islands. With additional footage and pictures provided by Mercy Ships' photographers, videographers and media team this is what was put together.
I shot most of my stuff on the Canon 5DmII. The rest of my footage was shot with a small Canon point and shoot.
