CML Dnipro Summer residency July 4th-10th 2016
We are at the Summer Residency of Kultura Medialna in Ukraine, during the introduction of CIVIC MEDIA LAB, artists, experts and staff of Kulturna Medialna. This is the first seven day long station of the CML project. Public interventions will be prepared during the first days.
The trans-disciplinary approach builds active bridges between various backgrounds and cultures, art disciplines, scenes and genres. The participants learn there to understand their activities as a creative force that - in terms of their long term dialogues with artists, producers, critics and audiences or publication - contribute in a constructive manner to dialogue and communication overall.
- Kultura Medialna Summer Residency guided by experts.
- Led by four facilitators and experts the aim is to work together on the development of the CML online platform with your ideas for the implementation of an online media based project in your hometown.

‘Error Island’ is an international pop-up exhibition of young artists working with media and reflecting upon issues related to politics, gender, identity, changing urban environments, collective disputable past and unstable futures in the global society and post-Internet era.
During one evening, artists, researchers and activists will occupy all spaces of Art-Kvartira and present their existing works and projects in progress. Together they will analyze and reflect upon the processes and challenges of the information society and societies in transit using various media artistic practices as a tool. The main theme of the exhibition is ‘error’, a term we encounter in the digital era perhaps more often than we would like. How social, political, cultural and personal errors influence our lives today and what are the results of these mistakes? What can be considered an error? Do they still remain errors when we look at them in historical or global perspective? Can art highlight these errors and suggest potential ways of how they can be fixed? These are the questions to be raised and addressed to the audience, who are expected to be taking an active role in the exhibition.
The discussion and meeting artists continues at the boat party ‘Ostrov’.
