The crew from Tropical Blends, Jim Hayes, Andrew Logreco, Ian Forester, Ray Shiraishi, and Scott Amona flew over to Moloka‘i to do the Moloka‘i Holokai downwind paddle board race from Kamalō Wharf to Hotel Moloka‘i. Todd Yamashita is the Molokai Holokai race coordinator. Get more info on this yearʻs race and next yearʻs race at molokai.spruz.com.
We all did the race on Kyle Bernhardt shaped stand up paddle boards from Tropical Blends. The Kamalō run is definitely one of the best downwind runs in Hawai‘i. Winds were blowing about 25 to 35 mph with really long bumps. Andrew, Tropical Blends team rider finished 2nd, Ian finished 3rd in his first SUP race.
Big mahalos to Jim and Ray for getting the boards over to Molokai. Big mahalos to Todd for picking us and the boards up and getting us to the race. And big mahalos to ‘Awapuhi Napoleon-OʻBrien and Lono for the great music all about Moloka‘i. Check out Lonoʻs music at lonomusic.com.
Mahalo for watching to you.
