On June 13, 2011 David Rose, Chief Education Officer of CAST (Center for Applied Special Technologies) spoke at a conference audience of teachers, college instructors, therapists, parents, students, and administrators. They gathered together to consider the place, need, and transforming effect of Assistive, Augmentative Communication, and consumer technologies for all students; both in general and special education.
In an excerpt from that presentation David put some old notions in a new context, a universal code underlying digitally delivered information, that made us completely rethink the idea of 'Disability'.
