Polperro, in Cornwall, England, has been a fishing village since the 14th century. But new problems are facing the traditional smallboat fishery, and 88-year-old fisherman Bill Cowan, explains the dilemmas. I first photographed Bill in 1992 during an assignment here for Islands Magazine.
This is the village where my great, great, great grandfather was a ship's carpenter. The rest of my mother's family came from the next village down the coast.
