Angela “Angie” Edgar is the manager of cardiology services at Northside Hospital Cherokee. She joined Northside Hospital nearly 11 years ago and has been in her career for 30 years.
When she was in high school, she saw how nurses compassionately cared for her terminally ill mother and she knew at that moment that nursing was her life’s calling.
“I wanted to work in critical care and after working 12 years in the coronary care unit, I transitioned to cath lab, where I have worked in one capacity or another for the last 19 years.”
In her current position, she enjoys the challenge of leading multiple departments and working towards the implementation of new services in cardiology.
“I especially enjoy fostering and mentoring new and upcoming leaders,” she says.
Having a background in coronary care, Angela is passionate about all things related to cardiac.
“Northside puts quality patient care and patient safety at the forefront of each and every initiative,” she says. “I am proud to work for an organization that delivers care so well and always has the patient as the focus of all that we do.”
