DANCE X CALLIGRAPHY
Lines in Motion / East meets West
In the exhibition Lines in Motion- East Meets West traditional Chinese Calligraphy and painting are displayed side by side Western Modern Abstract art. The video gives an impression of the official opening at 9 February 2018 in the Centrum voor Beeldende Kunst, Amsterdam.
As part of the exhibition, the cross cultural dance collective HKNLversation produced two nights of dance with the title BEYOND DOTS, to bring the philosophy and stories behind the Chinese paintings and calligraphy to life. During the exhibition opening, Rosa Allessie and Marloes van Houten of HKNLversations showed a glimpse of their performance DEEP FALL PUPPET, as a teaser to invite people to the two night of dance programming.
