"Yam, Potatoe an Fish!" is a solo, multi-media performance art project (work-in-progress). An introspective journey into my Caribbean heritage, upbringing in the Diaspora of Brooklyn, and my family’s immigrant experiences from Trinidad and Tobago and Grenada, West Indies. I am exploring the passage of time and movement of people, uncovering themes of home and displacement amidst my family's stories of migration. It nods to cultural loss, examines the idea of being "lost." It canvasses the significance of the spiritual and corporeal bond of sisters as we claim our relationship to family, history, culture, legacy, gifts, and story.
