KET (Κέντρο Ελέγχου Τηλεοράσεων / TV Control Center) is an intimate cultural venue in the heart of Kypseli, a diverse urban neighborhood of Athens.
KET was founded in May 2012, by and for artists, at a time of massive austerity cuts in the arts and culture public sector. It is now a well-known venue for international artists and young theater companies, welcoming a wide range of events from performance and experimental music to social & theatrical workshops and panel discussions on art, politics and the commons.
Our main source of revenue is based on a box-office split with the artists. This has proven sustainable, in spite of the venue's non-profit character.
After almost six years of continuous activity, we have decided to engage in a new approach to financing our effort.
Interdemos, a non-profit association under French law, have volunteered to organize a crowd-funding of KET on the Goteo platform.
You can contribute to the campaign or simply read about it and share the following link:
Your help will allow us to improve our sound and lighting equipment and venue seating with the aim of increasing our project range and accommodating bigger audiences without sacrificing the quality of our curatorial decisions.
Thank you in advance for any contributions or sharing of our campaign!
For the KET: Fotini Banou, Dimitris Alexakis
