Things were going so well today, until there was a distant rumble of thunder up the valley in Hertfordshire. Then the thunder started getting a lot nearer and the heavens truly opened above me. I was at one point completely trapped in the new cat house construction site, which despite being virtually finished still lacks things like a roof in certain parts, with a camera bag full of thousands of pounds of equipment and only a tee shirt on my back. Oh well, might as well keep the cameras rolling...

Snow leopards are fascinating animals. They were fed at one point just before the rain, and I didn't capture this alas, but dad went inside their den and came out with a his lunch in his mouth, mum then went in, and was duly followed by daughter Nina, who after a bark from mum rushed out and scrambled back on top of the ledge; only to be swiftly followed by mum with a rabbit in her mouth, who subsequently left it for Nina to eat! Making sure she got to eat it before Kermal the dad might have pinched it? Quite touching maternal instincts perhaps from the mother.

Anyway, not a lot to report. The last bit of Nina footage was shot in a downpour btw, and a mixture of very tight aperture to get clear of the bars whilst manually focusing through a Morrison's plastic bag wrapped over my 1D4, hence why it's a bit to tight!

Shot with a Canon EOS 1D4 and EF 24L II
