To join a body of believers in a local church is to commit to praying for one another. We MUST pray for our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ! How should we pray? Paul shows us in Ephesians 3:14-21. Paul prays for the believers in Ephesus to be strengthened with power by the Spirit; he prays that they would more fully understand the love of Christ; and he prays these things that they might grow in their conformity to Christ! Paul's view of God affects how he prays! According to vs. 16 and vv. 20-21, Paul prays with God's omnipotence in view! He stands in awe of the creator of the universe (vv. 14-15), and from that posture of praise he lifts up God's church in prayer with the end goal being that God's church would bring glory to God through their maturity in the Gospel! May MCC be a church that prays regularly for its people according to the example set before us in our passage today!
