The Mind's I--created by the painter Anne Harris--is a traveling, expanding, drawing conversation that connects widely diverse artists to each other through the shared acts of drawing and self-perception.
Harris began with a premise and a question: Everybody looks in mirrors, and everybody draws. What happens if we do this together?
The project debuted at Julius Caesar Gallery, Chicago, in 2012. Venues have ranged from alternative galleries, artist-driven project spaces, high schools, art schools, university galleries and art centers, from Memphis to LA. Its most recent enactment was at Dalton Warehouse, Los Angeles, Oct. 2017.
