A rotoscoped anijam derived from the Academy Award nominated short film of 1968 "De Düva" (The Dove) which is a parody of several Ingmar Bergman films including "Wild Strawberries" and "The Seventh Seal". I worked for many years in the NYC film studio (Liberty) established and owned by one of the directors of the short, Anthony Lover. He let me have an old 16mm print of the film. I selected the scene where Death is challenged to a badminton game, as the source material for my U-Arts, "Animation ll" students to rotoscope on the school's Oxberry camera. We then shot their animated drawings using istopmotion software and reintegrated the animation with the original soundtrack and some of the original live action as bookends.
Newly edited, mixed, and uploaded as of 7/10/14. Soon to be featured at the 2014 Coney Island Film Festival.
