Four years of grinding war in eastern Ukraine has taken the lives of over 10 000 people (including 3 000 civilians) and has displaced 1.7 million people. This multimedia video explores the living conditions of Ukrainians living along the contact line between Ukrainian territory and land claimed by the separatist Donetsk People's Republic, as well as protests against the government in Kiev.
Despite the Minsk Agreement of 2015 intended to bring about peace in eastern Ukraine, the lives of those living along the creeping frontline are dictated by constant shelling and other ceasefire violations.
