Haiti still lies in ruins from the earthquake that rocked the small country in January 2010. The city of Port au Prince still appears to be falling down around its residents.
Gedeon and Leo are members of the Special Olympics soccer team in Haiti and are preparing to compete in the 2011 World Games in Athens. Both were deeply affected by the earthquake and struggled to overcome their losses in a society where intellectually disabled children are discarded.
By playing soccer both in Special Olympics and at their school, the children are able to prove to their community and themselves that they are capable of more.
Shot and produced by Shannon Sanders and Megan Garner with two Panasonic HMC 150s, a Canon 5D Mark II, Sennheiser shotgun and wireless lavalier microphones. This video was produced for Special Olympics and can be found on their site as well.
