A team of Sea Cadets and crew of the Pride of Michigan support a scientific investigation of an archaeological site beside Traverse Bay, Michigan, where prehistoric people once mined chert for stone tools. The divers explore an ancient channel at the bay entrance that was exposed when Lake Michigan levels were much lower some 8,000 years ago. The project was sponsored by the Noble Odyssey Foundation with generous support from other organizations and volunteers. (2005, 18 min)
