This is a video my students made as part of a project incorporating new technologies and CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) methodology.
The school is based in N.Italy, so the students first language is Italian. I am an experienced learning technologies practitioner as well as being a mother-tongue English language teacher.
Using the ideas and methodology I learnt as an EFL teacher I co-teach curriculum subjects in English together with an Italian colleague. We use task-based learning to give the students a final product as a goal to work towards.
The blend of new technologies and foreign language has proved very popular with my students. It has encouraged them to carefully study the new vocabulary and to play a full and active part in the lessons.
This task you see in this video is a first draft of a science experiment we did using podcasting, interactive white boards and other technologies to try and inspire the students.
