Pete Souza is the former Chief Official White House Photographer for President Ronald Reagan and President Barack Obama, and the former director of the White House Photography Office. Michael Shaw is the publisher of the nonprofit organization, Reading the Pictures. As a special Photoville presentation of the Reading the Pictures Salon, Pete and Michael will focus on 8-10 of Pete’s photographs and discuss how each of them captured a particular aspect of the Obama presidency. They will talk about framing, composition, and meaningful elements of the photos in addition to exploring Pete’s role as photo editor, why certain pictures were featured, and some surprising turns once the public engaged with them.
