Using SWIS (Schoolwide Information System) Data For Decision – Making by Professor Rob Horner (University of Oregon).
In this presentation at the 2017 PB4LSW Conference in Auckland, Professor Horner discussed the collection and use of behavioural data in schools so that PB4LSW teams can obtain an accurate picture of the problem situation, and make sensible decisions about how to intervene so that change in student behaviour is likely to happen.
“Data enables us to ask the right questions to arrive at possible answers – ways of moving forward to a better place” (Horner, 2017).
Using data which schools collect about student behaviour with the Schoolwide Information System (SWIS) data-base, to make decisions about what steps schools can take to address inappropriate behaviour.”
