This was a quick test I did comparing my 5D Mark II and my new Cybershot HX9v.
Because Vimeo shows HD at 720p, the test was edited in 720p, but later in the video there is a 100% crop.
Faithful appeared to be the closest comparison in color on the 5D to the Cybershot.
No color correction or effects, straight from the camera.
Settings used on the 5D Mark II:
24-105mm EF lens @ 1080p 24fps 1/50th shutter
F22 @24mm wide
Sunlight white balance
Settings on the HX9v:
Sunlight white balance
EV -1.0
1080p 60fps
24mm wide
Feel free to download the file. The mp4 doesn't do it complete justice and i'll tell you for an extremely small chip camera I honestly cannot believe i'm considering using this alongside my 5D for B roll.
Of course low light is this camera's evil and one should know what limitations you're getting into, but for the price and what it does I really can't complain so far.
