Sony HX9V - Indoor Low Light Example

Someone had requested an indoor, low light example of what to expect from the Sony HX9V.

This is existing light, everything left on AUTO. The overhead kitchen light section looks pretty good. The part sitting on the couch with the laptop screen illuminating the face is where you can see a good amount of noise. This was to be expected from such a small sensor, but again it's not terrible considering the price point.

Bottom line is that if you're using it for its strengths, the camera will not let you down. If you're asking for the impossible, it will fail just like any other camera when it's used beyond its scope.
