A short welcome to Morgedal in Norway, the valley where ski sport originates. Pilgrim skiers from all over the world travel here to experience the home of skiing. Sondre Norheim (1825 - 1897) and the young guys he trained up started a ski sport revolution when they travelled into Oslo and demonstrated their skills, new techniques and equipment (not least carving skis with solid inswing). They were described as magicians or wizards on skis - nothing like this had ever been seen before - and so ski fever hit the capital and spread into Europe and America.
Morgedal - not much has changed here since those glory days - and that is the magic of this place. A beautiful non-touristy valley where people have always loved to ski. Today you can ski in the ghost trails of the legends on the worlds first slalom slopes...welcome!
