Castaway included the work of second unit director of photography Don King. Directed by Robert Zemekis, D.P. Don Burgess, second unit director Steve Starkey. Jon Roseman was the stunt double for Tom Hanks. The water scenes were shot in Fiji, off the islands of Tavarua and Namotu.
