Caroline Gleich is a pro skier and the first woman to ski all 90 lines in the Chuting Gallery, a collection of big descents in Utah’s legendary Wasatch Mountains in the Unita-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. She speaks up about the need for skiers, riders, and other members of the snow community to get involved in the future of the public lands they play in all winter.
Want to get involved in the conversation? The Forest Service is currently working through a process to determine where snowmobiles and other motorized over-snow vehicles (OSVs) are and are not allowed to travel in winter. Helping the forests draft these plans will be your opportunity to influence how your backcountry is managed. Public comment periods start in April.
