How VCAT can help video transcript
At VCAT, the Victorian Civil & Administrative Tribunal, we help people solve different types of disputes.
If you have an issue such as a landlord or tenant breaching their lease, a dispute about a shop refund, or a conflict over a new building, we can help resolve it.
We'll make it as fast and affordable as we can, so you can put the dispute behind you and get on with your life.
We can also help with owners corporations, reviewing government or other organisations' decisions or appointing a guardian for a relative or friend.
We're a lot less formal than going to court.
You can decide to represent yourself or ask us if you can use a lawyer.
At VCAT, you might talk through your issues with a mediator and try to reach an agreement.
Or go to a hearing, where you present your case and we make a decision.
You'll find us all across Victoria.
No matter who you are, or what side of a dispute you're on, we have a responsibility to treat you fairly.
