Base resources operate a mine in Kwale (Kenya), generating $72.4m in the last 6 months. The company have also recently acquired Toliara Sands, a mine situated in near-by Madagascar. They regard the project as the best undeveloped mineral sands resource in the world. They estimate that it has four times the resource of the Kwale Mine, able to produce at high volumes for the next 40 years, if not the next 60 years, as they forecast that the mine has some extension potential.
