This documentary highlights the artistry of the wooden synagogues in the shtetls of Eastern Europe destroyed in the Holocaust. The video tells the story of the elaborate folk art that decorated these buildings, often very plain on the outside. Interviews are combined with still photos, archive film and original investigative coverage in Latvia and Lithuania. This is a small excerpt of the one-hour film.
