This video marks the Artist's first official return to the medium in nearly a year since graduation.
"Observation" is a series of views regularly seen by the Artist. Recorded in the immediate proximity of His Falls Church residence, the video is heavily influenced by elements of still photography and Impressionism, work that He observes while working in a museum of modern and contemporary art as a Museum Assistant.
We follow a series of views emerging from inside out, interiors to exteriors of the living space, yard, neighborhood, and finally community. The Artist observes the lives of his neighbors and weighs them against his own.
Straight cuts, montage edit. Exploring outside His attic room finds a family two doors down in crisis. We are left with a mother and son reentering the house the man died in alone.
Themes at play include family strain, responsibility, self worth and image.
