ArtWorks! Sangai Khelaun | Srijanalaya | Shikshya Foundation Nepal

Artworks! Sangai Khelaun is an initiative of Shikshya Foundation Nepal and Srijanalaya. In the aftermath of the devastation from the earthquake on April 25, 2015, we began with a simple goal of bringing smiles on children’s and their community members’ faces. The program began as an emergency psychosocial support for children, their communities, and the school teachers and administrators. The program has now evolved into a campaign to inspire and expose schools and communities to see the possibilities in arts education in Nepal. We believe arts education provides an essential pedagogic intervention to make learning meaningful and holistic, especially for children from marginalized communities whose language and context are absent from the mainstream education system of Nepal.
