The time scales of momentum-conserving electron-electron interactions and momentum-relaxing electron-phonon interactions have been set to 0.2 ps and 10 ps respectively. This results in hydrodynamic transport through the device which occurs through vortex generation, reconnection and annihilation of vortices in the electron fluid. The movie slows down near the reversal of the source to illustrate the vortex dynamics. The measured voltage leads the current source in the hydrodynamic regime of AC transport.
