‘Memory and Actuality, Perception and Dream’ was a collaborative film produced by Joanna Wickham and Lucy Smith representing a sense of place at Mottisfont Abbey. The short film was used as a tool to investigate and understand the nature of how a space can become influenced by the ways in which the human mind distorts memories, which can, in turn, create an abstract impression of reality. This film looked to represent a journey of memory and discovery at Mottisfont Abbey, highlighting the importance memory has within the overall experience of place.
