Bicycle mechanic Jim O’Brien is a father-like leader in the close-knit Concord cycling community. Having worked in the cycling community for 47 years, he offers professional advice laced with a dry sense of humor to everyone from first time cyclists to professional athletes from his bike shop in Concord.
But 16 weeks out of the year, O’Brien travels throughout North America as a world-class mechanic working for professional cycling teams. Over the years, he was worked with some of the greatest cyclists in the world, including Lance Armstrong, Greg Lemond, and George Hincapie. But no matter how far he travels as a mechanic, his heart lies in Concord, with the community, his family, and his toys.
