1968mm - stories from a revolutionary year captured in home-movies!
Directed by: Jerry Rothwell, Felix Kriegsheim, Stefano Strocchi
Music Composer: Fabio Viana
Unique stories from all around the world, unseen private S8mm footage shot by our protagonists and unknown inside stories bring us to discover the exceptional year of 1968, on its 50th anniversary, with an unexpected new global series on 1968.
From the female fighters on the south shores of Vietnam during the Tet Offensive, to the radio station in Prague opposing the Russian invasion, from the mourning of Martin Luther King in Atlanta Georgia, to the sudden death of Robert Kennedy in USA, from the incredible rock and roll scene of the late sixties to a religious commune in Italy, 1968mm takes us inside the events of year 1968 with a unique personal perspective: the stories of everyday citizens who found themselves in the right place at the right time, filmed and lived history as it happened.
In three 52 min documentary films, lets discover the many political events of this exceptional year in episode one: “Trains, bombs and chickensoup” from Vietnam to USA, from Czecoslovakia to Mexico. We will live protests and fights for rights- we now give for granted- in Paris, New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Atlantic City and Prague in episode two “Bras, panthers and barricades”. Passing by the swinging London of the 60ies we will arrive to Teheran, Italy and Germany in episode three, plunging into the mythical culture scene of 1968 with “Sex, saints and Rock’n Roll”
