We have been touched by the experience of knowing people who have suffered spinal cord injuries. A teacher and classmate both suffered life-changing injuries in the past 18 months.
We were fortunate to learn about all the ways that a local foundation, Bridging Bionics, has made a difference in their lives and the lives of many other individuals with neurological impairments in our community. Therapy and the use of exoskeleton technology help them gain mobility, while also helping them to be better athletes on and off the snow.
As high school students who grew up in the Roaring Fork Valley, we have enjoyed many adventures the surrounding mountains offer.
We were inspired to make a short film to bring awareness about spinal cord injuries and this amazing technology -- and show that you can have a disability and still seek adventure on our amazing mountains!
